Distracted Driving Reduction Efforts Honored

The Southern Arizona Chapter of the Southern Arizona Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers (SAASSE) awarded their annual Community Safety Award to three local governments for their efforts to reduce the hazards of distracted driving. The Town of Oro Valley, Pima County and the City of Tucson all passed stronger laws in 2017 designed to reduce injuries and fatalities from distracted driving, including the use of cell phones. The award was given during the annual banquet being held at the Southern Arizona Transportation Museum, 414 N. Toole Ave, Tucson, AZ.

After Hurricane Harvey – Valuable Safety Information

In the aftermath of the widespread devastation of Hurricane Harvey and its severe impact on the lives and communities across the Texas Gulf Coast, we are especially encouraged and very proud of the response and dedication of SO MANY, who have been on the front line 24/7 in their effective response to the demands of this crisis, both in their work capacity and as volunteers responding to the urgent needs of their communities.

To assist our first responders and volunteers participating in the ongoing clean-up efforts, here are some links to resources available to help keep those workers safe. Please don’t hesitate to share!
